Job summary

Dollar General in Kenton, Tennessee is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead daily store operations, staffing, and customer service. You will oversee ordering, inventory, pricing, and training to ensure sales targets are met.

As a leader you will open/close the store, monitor performance, enforce safety policies, and coach team members to deliver a superior shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules and procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training and conduct evaluations; counsel or termination as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Ensure store is staffed and opened/closed each day.
• Open/close the store at least two times per week.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and control expenses.
• Review ordering plans and inventory issues; manage BSR and cycle counts.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Ensure merchandising, pricing and signage meet standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized store.
• Follow SOPs and complete paperwork on deadlines.
