Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store manager to lead all aspects of store operations, from staffing and training to inventory control and merchandising. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and customer service to meet company standards and drive sales.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a high school diploma and at least one year of management experience in retail preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; retail management experience preferred.
• Ability to recruit, train, evaluate, and counsel employees.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and loss prevention.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, and retain qualified staff in compliance with laws and policies.
• Train employees, evaluate performance, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Set pay recommendations and manage advancement opportunities.
• Communicate expectations and lead safety, security, and policy adherence.
• Ensure proper opening/closing and staffing levels.
• Analyze store performance and control expenses and shrink.
• Manage stock orders, reviews, and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and pricing accuracy.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Keep store clean, safe, and well-organized.
• Provide necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Ensure paperwork and compliance with SOPs.
