Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all aspects of store operations, including staffing, inventory and customer service. The role emphasizes planning, execution, training, performance evaluations, and adherence to company policies and safety standards.

You will recruit, hire, train, and develop staff, ensure proper cash handling and loss prevention, and sustain a clean, well-organized store while meeting sales targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as diagrams and rules.
• Perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• IBM cash register functions to generate reports.
• Inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; counseling and termination as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store regularly and ensure staffing.
• Open/close the store at least twice weekly.
• Analyze operating statements to identify trends and opportunities for expense control.
• Manage ordering and inventory; review BSR and cycle counts weekly.
• Ensure proper staging, stocking and merchandise presentation.
