Job summary

Dollar General seeks a store leader to supervise daily operations, staff scheduling and training while ensuring strong customer service and merchandising standards. You will manage ordering, receiving, stocking and presentation to meet sales targets in a fast-paced environment.

You will open/close the store as needed, supervise associates, handle cash controls, and uphold safety and security. Prior retail management experience is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, supervise, and develop staff while adhering to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations and counseling.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to enforce policies.
• Open and close the store as required, ensuring proper staffing and security.
• Manage inventory, ordering, stock levels and cycle counts to meet targets.
• Ensure appearance and pricing of merchandise follows established standards.
• Maintain cashier accountability, cash handling, and loss prevention practices.
• Deliver superior customer service and a clean, safe shopping environment.
