Job summary

Dollar General seeks a store manager to lead all store operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presenting merchandise, staffing and customer service. You will ensure daily opening/closing, supervise employees and enforce safety policies.

Responsibilities include staff training, performance evaluations, payroll and compliance with federal and state labor laws, inventory control, and achieving in-store targets while maintaining a clean, safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; 1 year of retail management experience preferred.
• Ability to read documents, perform basic math, and manage cash deposits.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees following labor laws and policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Open/close the store, ensuring staffing and operations are in place.
• Monitor sales, inventory, and stock replenishment; manage weekly planning.
• Maintain cash control and store security practices; ensure safe, compliant operations.
