Job summary

Dollar General in Manassas, VA is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily store operations and staff. You will recruit, train, schedule, and coach employees while ensuring sales, inventory control and merchandising standards are met.

This role requires strong leadership, customer service, and cash handling skills, with a focus on safety and policy compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is adequately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (sales, profitability, turn) and expense control opportunities.
• Orders to meet or exceed in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory issues weekly; follows up on BSR/cycle counts.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following Company processes.
• Ensures merchandise is presented according to practices; utilizes fixtures, pricing and signage.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning and paperwork.
• Upholds cashier accountability, key control, and security practices.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe store environment and ensures tools are available.
• Follows Company policies; completes paperwork on deadlines.
