Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Alabama LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, and help maintain seasonal displays.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, loss prevention, staffing support, and ensuring safety and clean store conditions. The role emphasizes leadership and customer-focused problem solving in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
