Job summary

Family Dollar in Huntsville, AL seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise flow, loss prevention and ensuring safety standards.

The role emphasizes leadership of store associates, training, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. Prior retail management is preferred; you will work in a fast-paced, community-focused setting with a strong emphasis on service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
