Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager based in Tennessee to oversee all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. You will recruit and train staff, conduct evaluations, and ensure proper staffing and safety practices.

You will also manage inventory, cash controls, merchandising standards, and daily opening/closing routines, driving sales while maintaining a clean, safe shopping environment for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, perform basic math, and manage cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees per laws and policies; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Recommend pay rate and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance expectations; conduct meetings to promote safety and policy adherence.
• Ensure daily store openings/closes and adequate staffing.
• Analyze operating statements for trends, profitability, and shrink.
• Manage ordering and inventory; monitor stock replenishment and cycle counts.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing, and signage across fixtures.
• Maintain accurate inventory; control damages and cash handling integrity.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe store environment.
