Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store management professional to lead all employees in planning and implementing store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support.

Responsibilities include recruiting, training, evaluating performance, enforcing safety and policies, managing opening/closing, monitoring sales and inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service. A high school diploma and retail mgmt exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees; ensures store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations and coaching.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings and events.
• Ensures store is opened and closed regularly; maintains staffing levels.
• Evaluates operating statements for trends, profitability, and expenses.
• Manages ordering to meet in-stock targets; reviews weekly plans and cycle counts.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and storage of merchandise per company processes.
• Maintains merchandise presentation, pricing and signage.
• Maintains accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Implements cashier controls and cash handling procedures.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe, organized store environment.
• Ensures store has necessary tools and equipment; adheres to SOPs and policies.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on time.
