Job summary

Foot Locker in the United States is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to energize the sales floor, coach the team, and sustain store operations. You’ll partner with the Store Manager to drive sales, deliver a great customer experience, and uphold brand standards.

As a hands-on leader, you’ll open/close shifts, train associates, manage inventory, and use retail tech to optimize performance. This role requires strong communication, adaptability, and a commitment to ownership and results.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in a leadership role.
• Ability to coach, motivation, and engage a diverse team.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable, self motivated, and ready to take ownership.
• Basic understanding of retail KPIs and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor with energy and solutions.
• Coach the team to deliver great service and keep customers excited to shop.
• Support sales goals by staying engaged and closing the loop with customers.
• Help manage daily store operations including opening/closing, cash handling.
• Maintain store organization and readiness.
• Follow safety, loss prevention, and SOPs to protect customers and staff.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when scheduled.
• Assist hiring, onboarding, and training of store associates.
• Coach teammates in real time and close performance gaps.
• Take ownership of store execution and priorities.
• Leverage retail technology and digital tools to enhance customer experience.
