Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, supervise staff, and ensure merchandise presentation and customer satisfaction. The role involves cashiering, stocking, deposits, and adherence to security and loss-prevention practices.

You will work under the Store Manager to ensure efficient store performance, financial integrity, and strong customer service while maintaining a safe, well-organized environment.

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Problem solving across varied store scenarios.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, diagrams and procedures.
• Basic math calculations including percentages and totals.
• Experience with cash registers and generating reports.
• Understanding cash handling, deposits and security procedures.
• Ability to drive to the bank for deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise and planograms; restock and rotate inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory; manage damages, markdowns, scans, and paperwork.
• Assist in deposits and cash control; count tills and authorize refunds.
• Support Store Manager in absence and supervise staff as needed.
