Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to support store operations and serve as a lead in the absence of store leadership. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, assist customers, and process transactions with accuracy, while upholding store standards and loss prevention.

At minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with prior supervisory exposure. The role requires teamwork, mobility around the sales floor, and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, and six months of supervisory experience (or related training) preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers and related devices.
• Familiarity with plan‑ograms and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise on shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan‑o‑gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide superior service.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, and bag merchandise.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Keep front end clean and maintain register area.
