Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a proactive Cashier/Stocker who can act as a lead in the absence of the Store Manager. You will assist in plan-o-gram setup, help customers, and drive store profitability while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking and rotating merchandise, operating the register, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized store. A high school diploma and at least six months of supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform cash handling and cashier accountability.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise on shelves and build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and total customer purchases; bag items.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and assist with displays.
• Authorize refunds and overrides in manager's absence; monitor cash levels.
• Complete required documentation according to guidelines.
