Job summary

Famous Footwear is hiring a full-time Assistant Store Manager dedicated to creating the best shoe store experience for families through customer engagement.

You will lead in the manager's absence, coach a team, and work to achieve sales targets while upholding brand standards. You will stay current on trends, train associates, and reinforce a positive, inclusive culture that motivates performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of sales experience (retail preferred).
• Experience with interviewing, hiring and training people.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to train, coach and develop associates to provide a great customer experience.
• Exhibits independent judgment and discretion with Store Sales Manager.
• Strong cognitive skills including problem solving, analysis and decision making.
• Knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates to build customer relationships and drive sales.
• Collaborate with Store Manager to interview and hire passionate team members.
• Support store operations, pricing, shipping, and inventory to ensure smooth execution.
• Drive location performance by applying insights and achieving goals.
• Contribute to a culture that values diversity and inclusion and fosters teamwork.
• Step into the Store Manager's role when needed, enforcing policies and training.
