Job summary

Dollar General Lead Sales Associates help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. They assist customers, operate a cash register, stock and display merchandise, and help protect company assets. They act in a lead capacity when store managers are absent.

They perform duties of a Sales Associate and may take on additional responsibilities to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; collect payment and bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise; build displays; follow planograms.
• Clean the store and maintain appearances; rotate stock as needed.
• Open and close the store under direction; assist in supervising in absence of managers.
