Job summary

Safeway in Puyallup, WA seeks a Person In Charge to lead the front end in the absence of store management, ensuring exceptional customer service, sales, and profit objectives. As the primary customer contact, the PIC supervises cashiers, handles emergencies, and maintains store policies, while coordinating stock, pricing, and daily operations to keep the store running smoothly.

This role requires independent work, solid knowledge of store positions, and the ability to make decisions to maintain

Qualifications

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of all positions within the store.
• Ability to work independently.
• Prior experience as a clerk or manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service as defined by the employer within the scope of the position and policy.
• Supervise the sales floor to monitor service and replenishment of products.
• Replace stock in displays surrounding the checkout area.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment within the store.
• Operate the cash register and handle payments and change.
• May supervise store employees during absence of management.
• Count tills and assist other cashiers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
