Job summary

Safeway in United States (Washington) seeks a Person In Charge to ensure outstanding customer service and to direct store operations when management is absent. The PIC will supervise front-end staff, assist cashiers, and safeguard daily store profitability and efficiency.

Responsibilities include handling emergencies, supervising personnel, maintaining policies, and ensuring a clean, safe shopping environment while supporting customers and colleagues with daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of all positions within the store.
• Ability to work independently.
• Desire: prior clerk or manager experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service as defined by the employer and policy.
• Supervise store personnel and manage emergencies and complaints.
• Maintain familiarity with company policies and procedures.
• Oversee sales floor, replenishment, and stock displays.
• Assist with cashier tasks, close of day duties, and stock counts.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment and assist with equipment issues.
• Perform basic office functions to assist customers and staff.
