Job summary

Safeway in Bellevue, WA seeks a Person In Charge (PIC) to provide friendly customer service and lead the store during the absence of management. The role involves supervising employees, cashiering, and ensuring store operations run profitably and safely.

Responsibilities include handling emergencies, maintaining policy knowledge, supervising floor activities, and supporting multiple departments as needed. Prior clerk/manager experience is a plus, with potential for broader responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service as defined by the employer and policy.
• Handle emergencies, complaints, and supervise store personnel.
• Maintain familiarity with company policies and procedures.
• Supervise the sales floor for service and product replenishment.
• Replace stock in displays near checkout area.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist other cashiers with register issues.
• Perform basic office functions to assist customers and staff.
• Operate cash register and process payments.
• Prepare correct change and bag groceries.
• May handle close-of-day tasks and counting stock.
• Other duties as assigned.
