Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a dedicated Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, assist customers, and maintain store cleanliness and security. Strong math and cash handling skills are required to ensure accurate transactions.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and follow processing steps to receive and unpack shipments.
• Stock and rotate merchandise, build displays, and restock returned items.
• Point of sale responsibilities including totaling purchases and making change.
• Greet customers and assist with locating merchandise and maintaining a clean store.
• Open/close procedures, refunds/overrides and cash control in absence of store leadership.
• Maintain plan-o-grams and ensure cashier accountability and security practices.
