Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, customer-focused store. You will assist customers, operate the register, stock and rotate merchandise, and help with planograms. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will perform leadership duties and open/close the store.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and some supervisory experience. Frequent walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and occasional travel to nearby stores are involved.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising guides.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash handling procedures.
• Experience operating a cash register and scanner.
• Willingness to drive to the bank for deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves, and build displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; dust and mop floors; clean restroom and stockroom.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform duties of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
