Job summary

Dollar General Lead Sales Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate the cash register, stock and display products, and perform other duties as directed by the Store Manager to maximize sales and protect company assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases, collect payment, give change, bag merchandise.
• Receive, open, unpack merchandise; stock and rotate on shelves; create displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom; set up sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform duties of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
