Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, customer-first store and to act in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

You will assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate the cash register, stock and rotate merchandise, and help set up displays while upholding store profitability and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and basic math.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move merchandise as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner; process purchases and make change.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves; build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store and perform housekeeping tasks; handle trash and restroom upkeep.
• Open and close the store under the Store Manager's direction; assist in absence of management.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
