Job summary

Dollar General is hiring for a Cashier/Stocker to lead store operations when the Store Manager is absent. You will help with plan-o-gram setup, stocking, and customer service to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role includes unloading trucks, restocking, operating the register, and assisting customers. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and some supervisory experience would be preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise per store processes.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock and rotate merchandise on shelves.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and maintaining clean, organized aisles.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, and collect payments with proper deposits.
• Open/close the store under direction of Area Manager; help ensure security and loss prevention.
