Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to support store operations, including unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and providing excellent customer service. In the absence of management, you may lead the team and oversee cash handling and POS operations.

Responsibilities include maintaining displays, following plan-o-gram guidance, and ensuring a clean, safe shopping environment while protecting company assets and reducing losses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform math calculations and cashier tasks.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack shipments; stock and face merchandise.
• Operate cash register and handle payments; bag purchases.
• Greet customers and help locate merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and assist in displays.
• Open or close the store under direction; assist in loss prevention and security.
