Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Cashier/Stocker to perform high‑level cashier duties and stock responsibilities in support of store profitability and customer satisfaction. In the absence of the Store Manager, you may lead store operations and safeguard assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, plan‑o‑gram maintenance, and delivering excellent customer service while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to perform basic math and cash handling tasks.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store process.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and rotate on shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Order zones and drops per Store Manager instructions.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of store areas.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise, collect payment.
• Greet customers and provide superior service leadership.
• Open/close store under Area Manager direction.
• Authorize refunds/overrides in absence of managers; maintain cash controls.
