Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a dependable Cashier/Stocker with leadership in the absence of store management. You will unload deliveries, stock shelves, implement plan-o-grams, and provide excellent customer service to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include operating the cash register, handling payments, maintaining clean front-end areas, and upholding store safety and security practices. Prior supervisory exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Understanding of cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; maintain displays and plan-o-grams.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and keeping the store clean.
• Operate register, collect payments and make change.
• Maintain register areas, accountability and cash control.
• Open/close the store as directed by management.
