Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with leadership responsibilities in the absence of store management. The role emphasizes customer service, merchandising, and loss prevention in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include operating the register, stocking, unloading trucks, and ensuring a clean, organized store. Experience with plan-o-grams and basic supervisory duties is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; build displays and rotate stock.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and providing superior customer service.
• Operate cash register, process payments, and bag merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and organize back areas.
• Open/close store under direction and assist in loss prevention.
