Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can also lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. You will assist with plan‑o‑gram setup, merchandise stocking, and excellent customer service to maximize profitability and teamwork.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking and rotating merchandise, handling cashier duties, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment. A high school diploma and some supervisory exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience or related training preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑o‑gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes per processes.
• Stock merchandise and maintain shelves and displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Place orders for zones and drop shipment categories as directed by Store Manager.
• Assist in plan‑o‑gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety (dusting, mopping, trash).
• Greet customers and assist with purchases at the register.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and provide change.
• Support sidewalk displays and front-end cleanliness.
