Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to support store operations and lead in the absence of store leadership. You will manage stock, assist customers, and help drive profitability while maintaining a safe, organized environment.

Responsibilities include unloading shipments, stocking shelves, processing transactions, and supporting plan-o-gram implementation. Prior supervisory experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations for transactions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Effective interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store processes.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and maintain cleanliness.
• Assist with plan-o-gram implementation and zone ordering.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and process payments; bag items.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Open/close the store under management direction.
