Job summary

Dollar General is currently seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager, provide exemplary customer service, and assist in maintaining plan-o-grams and merchandising programs. The role supports profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting company assets.

You will unload deliveries, stock shelves, assist customers, operate the cash register, and help keep the store clean and organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and handle cash accurately.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures, deposits, and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions and related equipment.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise on shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; collect trash and clean areas.
• Operate cash register and process payments; bag items and give change.
• Greet customers and provide superior customer service leadership.
