Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a proactive Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. You will help implement plan-o-grams, greet customers, and process transactions while maintaining a clean, organized store.

Responsibilities include unloading shipments, stocking shelves, and assisting customers. This role emphasizes teamwork, loss prevention, and exemplary customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of safety and cash control policies.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow plan-o-gram and merchandise guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store process and follow receiving procedures.
• Stock merchandise, rotate and face shelves, build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and manage shortages.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate register, total purchases, and bag merchandise.
• Keep store clean and safe; maintain front end and displays.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open/close store under Area Manager direction.
