Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to lead in the absence of store management, help implement plan-ograms, and provide exemplary customer service while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking and rotating merchandise, operating the cash register, assisting customers, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring a safe, well‑organized shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math with accuracy for transactions and deposits.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to read and follow plan-ograms for merchandise presentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; safety-conscious.
• Experience with cash registers and basic POS functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise, rotate items and build displays.
• Operate the cash register, collect payment, and make change.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness and organize front end, stockroom, and restrooms.
• Assist in store opening/closing and plan-ogram implementation.
• Monitor cash levels and assist in cashier accountability as needed.
• Provide superior customer service leadership when needed.
