Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dedicated Cashier/Stocker to support store operations and lead in the absence of management. You will unload deliveries, stock shelves, run the register, and help customers with friendly service.

You will maintain merchandise displays, follow plan-o-grams, and assist in ensuring a safe, clean, and organized store environment while protecting company assets and maximizing profitability.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers and scanners.
• Knowledge of safety and loss prevention policies.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-grams for merchandise presentation.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise and build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and manage inventory as directed.
• Assist customers and locate products on shelves.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety at all times.
• Operate cash register, collect payments and provide change.
• Greet customers and provide superior service leadership.
• Support in store opening/closing and cash control procedures.
