Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to perform essential store duties, including stocking, cashier tasks, and customer service leadership. The role supports store operations, merchandising, and loss prevention while delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, assisting customers, and maintaining store cleanliness. The position requires working as a lead in the absence of management and following company SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash handling.
• Experience with IBM cash register.
• Knowledge of safety and loss prevention policies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read plan-o-grams and merchandising guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves; maintain plan-o-grams.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and checking out customers.
• Operate cash register, collect payment, and give change.
• Keep store clean, organized, and safe; assist in displays.
• Open/close store under direction of Area Manager.
• Support in maintaining cashier accountability and store security.
