Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Store General Manager to lead the Travel Store/Convenience Store operations and marketing initiatives. You will staff, train, supervise the team, and drive profitability while delivering fast, friendly service to travelers.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (associate/bachelor preferred) and 3+ years of supervisory experience in relevant retail settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in convenience store, truck service, travel center, or related business activity.
• Proficient planning and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; POS software experience.
• A valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire team to meet/exceed performance standards and improve store potential.
• Develop a trusting atmosphere; coach and performance-manage staff per policy.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain high-quality team members and recognize achievements.
• Respond to customer concerns with problem-solving.
• Achieve financial objectives through managing people, product, service and facility processes; focus on revenue and profit.
• Oversee payroll, accounting, inventory and personnel documentation for accuracy and compliance.

• Assume duties of any hourly associate position as needed.
