Job summary

TravelCenters of America is hiring a Store General Manager to lead the Travel Store/Convenience Store operations and marketing efforts. You will staff, train, supervise, and drive profitability while maintaining an engaging, customer-first environment.

The role requires a servant-leader mindset, strong coaching ability, and a track record of developing high‑performing teams. A high school diploma or GED is required, with higher degrees preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in convenience store, truck service, travel center, or related activity.
• Proficient planning and analytical skills (P&L, coverage ratio, budgets/expenses).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be a leader and inspire your team to meet and exceed company performance standards and improve the potential of the Travel Store/Convenience Store.
• Develop a trusting atmosphere that is conducive to receiving feedback from team members and guests; coach and performance manage staff according to company policy.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain high-quality team members and create a culture of recognition.
• Respond to customer concerns, both written and verbal, with the ability to creatively solve problems.
• Achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, product, service and facility processes, including revenue and profit focus.
• Oversee payroll, accounting, inventory and personnel documentation procedures for accuracy and compliance.
• Adhere to safety standards and company guidelines on vendor relationships.
• Stay abreast of competitive practices and provide insights to leadership.
• Assume duties of any hourly associate position as necessary
