Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and support the Store Manager with supervision, merchandising, and deposits. The role requires training staff, scheduling, inventory control, and enforcing cash-handling procedures in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with management to ensure store standards, compliance, and profitability while delivering excellent customer service and safeguarding assets.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.
• Good organization skills with attention to detail.
• Read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and cash control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, planograms, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages and markdowns, and process paperwork.
• Ensure cash control and refunds/overrides with store staff.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
