Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, customer-first store. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock merchandise, and support the Store Manager in daily operations.

Strong communication, basic math skills, safety awareness, planogram execution, and teamwork are essential. A high school diploma and six months supervisory experience are preferred. This is a fast-paced, customer-focused role with opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate the cash register and perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising guides.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; collect payment and bag merchandise.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays and assist with planograms.
• Keep the store clean; take out trash; mop floors; maintain restroom and stockroom.
• Open/close the store under direction of the Store Manager; perform duties in the absence of management.
• Perform additional duties typically performed by Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager as needed.
