Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, customer-first store, assist customers, operate a cash register, stock merchandise, and support store profitability. In this lead role, you may act in the absence of Store Manager.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of supervisory experience or related training; expect frequent standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and a fast-paced environment with customer-facing

Qualifications

Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
Ability to perform cash register functions and basic math.
Knowledge of cash handling and deposit procedures.
Flexibility to lift up to 40 pounds and frequent standing/walking.

Responsibilities

Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases and give correct change.
Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays; restock as needed.
Clean and maintain store, restrooms, and stockroom; assist in sidewalk displays.
Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms and store layout.
Open and close the store under direction of Store Manager; support in absence of Store Manager.
