Job summary

Sur La Table in North Bethesda, MD is seeking a Store Floor Lead to inspire customers and drive daily store performance as MOD, supporting the GM or Store Manager to meet sales and operational goals.

You will coach associates, stay current on product knowledge, deliver guest-obsessed service, and lead a brand-driven experience while ensuring stock and visual standards, with a 20–25 hour week and flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older at time of employment.
• 1 year of retail management experience, preferably in a specialty or culinary retail environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and retain a high performing team.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the sales floor and oversee daily store operations as Manager on Duty (MOD).
• Provide in-the-moment coaching and feedback to elevate performance and team engagement.
• Support onboarding, training, and development of new associates.
• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Maintain expertise by staying current on products and training; lead a guest-obsessed culture.
