An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all aspects of store maintenance. This role involves managing skilled technicians, ensuring efficient operation of mechanical systems, and responding to emergency service requests. With a focus on safety and compliance, you'll develop problem-solving strategies and coordinate with external contractors. Supervise refrigeration and plumbing journeymen, food equipment technicians, and general maintenance and carpentry staff (as needed). Ensure timely and effective completion of all scheduled jobs, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors. Oversee maintenance and repair of store mechanical equipment such as HVAC, refrigeration, exhaust, plumbing, food equipment, and electrical systems, prioritizing based on urgency and safety considerations. Develop problem-solving strategies and alternative solutions for field issues. Supervise repairs of energy management controls and oversee installation of mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications. Identify and negotiate with external contractors, monitor their work, and ensure adherence to budget and safety standards. Manage inventory levels of mechanical equipment and respond to emergency service requests within four hours, assessing hazards and coordinating repairs. Conduct safety meetings and participate in ongoing training to stay updated on technology. Assist in preparing capital budgets for equipment replacement and external maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to company policies. Be available for on-call supervision 24/7 as per schedule rotation.
Performance reviews must be satisfactory. Strong communication skills are required. Must have a valid driver’s license, be at least 21 years old, and submit to driver’s license monitoring. Flexibility in working hours is necessary.
Vocational or specialized training plus 5+ years of applicable experience in commercial refrigeration or 10+ years of combined education and experience in related fields, including supervision.
