Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Store Director to lead a retail team toward delivering the best shopping experience. You will oversee total store operations, align with leadership expectations, and drive financial success while upholding merchandising standards.

In this role, you will analyze financial data, coach leaders, and ensure staffing and safety compliance. You will actively engage with the local community to promote the Meijer brand and provide remarkable customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail experience.
• 5 years of retail/service industry experience.
• 3 years of leadership experience including management of leaders with direct reports.
• Minimum 3 years of retail leadership experience with General Merchandise and Grocery/Fresh experience preferred.
• Experience in leading retail or service operation with $40 million minimum in annual sales revenue (through single or multi-unit responsibility).
• Ability to receive and maintain licenses required for the store’s operations.
• Position may require lifting, carrying, and other physical acts.

Responsibilities

• Use retail leadership and service expertise to maximize store success and customer satisfaction.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout store operations.
• Mentor and coach all team members and leaders to meet and exceed goals.
• Ensure store is properly staffed with trained team members and develop existing staff.
• Maintain all corporate, safety, and regulatory procedures for a safe work environment.
• Be a strong community partner by cultivating local relationships for the Meijer brand.
