Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Store Department Lead to oversee a busy department, ensuring well-stocked, clean, and organized areas while delivering exceptional customer service. You will supervise staff, assist with scheduling, and train Partners to execute production plans across multiple sections including Bakery, Deli, and Produce.

The role requires strong leadership, food safety knowledge, and the ability to manage diverse tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or 6+ months related experience.
• Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training

Responsibilities

• Back up Department Manager and work opposite shifts.
• Assist with department scheduling and supervise Partners.
• Provide superior customer service and coaching to customers and Partners.
• Oversee inventory control and product loading/unloading.
• Train Partners and ensure execution of production plans and responsibilities.
• Maintain food safety, cleaning, inspection and sanitation of areas and equipment.
• Oversee Bakery, Deli, Produce and other zone duties as assigned.
