Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Store Department Lead to manage a busy, well-stocked department and deliver exceptional customer service. You will supervise scheduling, training, and development of Partners, while ensuring adherence to policies and food safety standards.

Responsibilities include leading operations, assisting with inventory, coaching staff, and maintaining high product quality across Bakery, Produce, Deli, and other areas as needed, with emphasis on teamwork and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of department production stations (quality, setup, cleaning)
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, production planners
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Partners
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out written or verbal instructions
• Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Responsibilities

• Lead department operations and training; schedule work and oversee staff
• Provide superior customer service and coach Partners on techniques
• Manage inventory and assist with product loading/unloading
• Train Partners and oversee production plans and execution
• Oversee Bakery, Produce, Deli, and other department areas as assigned
• Assist with order management, systems training, and new processes
• Monitor food safety, cleanliness, and department procedures
