Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Store Department Lead to oversee a well-stocked shop floor and maintain high standards of customer service. You will supervise schedules, train Partners, and support the Department Manager to keep operations running smoothly across Bakery, Produce, Deli, and Prepared Foods areas.

You will lead by example, ensure food safety and quality, and resolve issues with a focus on teamwork and operational excellence in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 6+ months of related experience and / or training
• Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training
• Experience in leading a retail department and coordinating multiple stations (Bakery, Produce, Deli, Prepared Foods)

Responsibilities

• Lead department operations and schedule Partners.
• Provide superior customer service and coaching to customers and staff.
• Oversee inventory control and production planning across Bakery, Produce, Deli, and Prep Foods.
• Train Partners; direct work; address complaints; resolve issues; ensure adherence to plans and procedures.
• Perform backup to Department Manager as needed.
