Job summary

H-E-B in Houston seeks a Store Department Lead to guide a well-stocked department, supervise scheduling and partner development, and deliver superior customer service. You will back up the Department Manager, help with inventory, train Partners, and ensure food safety and compliance across Bakery, Produce, Deli, Prepared Foods, and other sections.

You will lead and develop Partners, manage daily tasks, and maintain standards to maximize department performance in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or 6+ months of related experience.
• Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced retail environment with precise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead department operations and training for Partners.
• Assist with inventory control and scheduling of department work.
• Provide superior customer service and answer product questions.
• Maintain food safety standards and sanitize sales floor and equipment.
• Serve as backup to Department Manager and oversee Bakery/Produce/Deli/Prepared Foods as applicable.
