Job description

We are so much more than a Parts Store and we are looking for even more great talent to join our NAPA family! As a NAPA Counter Sales associate, you are seen as the “face of the retail store” and the go-to person for customers entering our retail stores for all their automotive needs. You don’t need to be able to tear down and rebuild engines (though that’s a plus), but we do require a background and knowledge of automotive parts.

What you will be doing:

  1. Providing auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person and over the phone.
  2. Using your parts knowledge to assist other team members in answering customer questions.
  3. Providing outstanding customer care and interactions.
  4. Bringing customer focus and high energy to our fast-paced stores.
  5. Welcoming retail customers and engaging to ensure a positive experience.
  6. Using technology such as computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalogs.

This is the right opportunity if you:

  1. Enjoy helping customers with their auto parts and service questions.
  2. Have gained experience in the automotive industry or through repairing cars and trucks.
  3. Are willing to learn all things automotive, even without prior background.
  4. Want to grow your career in a team with endless opportunities.

What you’ll need:

  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. Experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or a willingness to learn.
  3. High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade school education is a plus.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
  6. Great listening skills and empathy for customers.

And if you have this, even better (not a deal breaker if you don’t):

  1. Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
  2. Experience in a parts store, auction, retail, auto body/collision.
  3. Knowledge of cataloging and inventory management systems.
  4. Customer-centric mindset.
  5. ASE Certifications.
