We are seeking a Counter Sales associate who will be the “face of the retail store” and assist customers with their automotive needs. Knowledge of auto parts is preferred, but a willingness to learn is also valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist retail and wholesale customers in person and over the phone with auto parts questions.
- Support team members with product knowledge and customer service.
- Provide outstanding customer care to enhance the shopping experience.
- Engage with customers in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Use technology such as computers, cash registers, and catalogs to process transactions.
Ideal Candidate
- Enjoy helping customers with auto parts questions.
- Have experience in automotive or related tinkering/repair activities.
- Willing to learn automotive knowledge if lacking experience.
- Desire to grow and develop within the company.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Experience in auto parts or automotive industry, or willingness to learn.
- High School Diploma or GED; technical/trade courses a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong listening skills and empathy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership.
- Experience in retail, auto body, or collision parts store.
- Knowledge of inventory and catalog systems.
- Customer-centric attitude.
- ASE Certifications (a plus).
