Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Construction Manager to lead store construction projects in Virginia, oversee remodels and fuel projects, and ensure delivery within scope and budget. You will coordinate with contractors, vendors and internal teams while upholding Kroger's values of safety and integrity.

Responsibilities include planning resources, reviewing contracts, managing change orders, and supervising staff. Travel up to 50% is expected to support project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5+ years of construction management experience.
• Ability to read and understand construction documents.
• Lead retail management and contractors through moderately difficult projects.
• Budget and organize orders on a project.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Proven supervisory/leadership, conflict management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to travel independently (50%).
• Intermediate/Extensive knowledge of e-Pro and Sitefolio.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and manage resources for a cost-effective, quality project within scope and budget.
• Prepare timely requisitions for major equipment, fixtures and supply items.
• Receive proposals, review docs and award contracts for remodeling installations.
• Ensure contractors perform in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Provide documentation and records throughout the construction process.
• Ensure lowest company cost for change orders.
• Coordinate remodel activities to minimize sales and EBITDA loss.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; complete performance reviews.
